What Should a Sample Look Like?

For asbestos sampling laws and regulations, please refer to your state’s regulatory agencies. Most states require samples be taken by licensed asbestos inspectors. Samples should be no smaller than 1”x1”, and no larger than 5”x5”. For samples where that is not feasible (e.g., window glazing or caulking), samples should be between 1” and 6” in length. We may be unable to process samples that do not meet these guidelines.

Important Note

For your safety and ours, please package your sample in an air-tight, resealable container. Please do not use staples on sample bags. Resealable bags are provided.

Samples that are not properly packaged will not be accepted.
